Michelin Guide 2025 Unveiled: Türkiye Shines with 132 Culinary Gems

Michelin Guide 2025 Highlights Türkiye’s Culinary Excellence

The prestigious Michelin Guide 2025 for Istanbul, Izmir, and Mugla was unveiled on Thursday in a glittering ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul. With 32 new entries, the guide now features a total of 132 recommended establishments across Türkiye, including 77 in Istanbul, 24 in Izmir, and 31 in Mugla.

New Stars Illuminate Istanbul and Izmir

This year, Istanbul’s Casa Lavanda and Izmir’s Narimor joined the ranks of Michelin-starred establishments, earning their first stars. Meanwhile, notable restaurants such as Istanbul’s Mikla, Neolokal, and Nicole, along with Izmir’s OD Urla and Mugla’s Kitchen by Osman Sezener, retained their coveted stars. Leading the way is Turk Fatih Tutak in Istanbul, which proudly maintained its two-star rating for the third consecutive year.

Green Stars for Sustainability

Michelin Green Stars, awarded to restaurants excelling in sustainable gastronomy, were presented to six establishments in 2025. Istanbul’s Casa Lavanda, The Barn, and Telezzuz joined the list, alongside Mugla’s Mezra Yalikavak and Agora Pansiyon. Izmir’s beloved Asma Yapragi also received this eco-conscious recognition.

Bib Gourmand List Expands

Celebrating exceptional dining experiences at moderate prices, the Bib Gourmand list now features 27 restaurants. New entries include Istanbul’s Ali Ocakbaşı, Tatbak, and Araf Istanbul; Izmir’s Aslında Meyhane; and Mugla’s Agora Pansiyon.

Special Awards Honor Rising Stars

This year’s Michelin special awards recognized outstanding individuals in the culinary world:

  • Michelin Sommelier Award: Yunus Öztürk of OD Urla.
  • Michelin Service Award: The service team at Nicole in Istanbul.
  • Michelin Young Chef Award: Serhat Doğramacı of Mezra Yalıkavak in Bodrum.
