Who is Özgür Çevik?
Özgür Çevik was born on May 27, 1981, in Ankara. He spent his early years in Istanbul before attending primary school in Amasya, middle school in Lüleburgaz, and high school in Bingöl and İzmit at Kocaeli Anatolian High School. In 1999, he moved back to Istanbul after gaining admission to Istanbul University’s Faculty of Letters, studying Philosophy. Alongside his academic pursuits, he continued developing his musical talents.
Çevik gained recognition during his participation in Academy Turkey, a popular competition show in 2004. His breakthrough role came when he played Niko in the TV series Yabancı Damat (2004-2007) on Kanal D. He went on to guest star in shows like Avrupa Yakası and Kavak Yelleri and took on leading roles in Gece Sesleri and Balkan Düğünü. From 2015 to 2018, he portrayed the character ‘Toprak’ in Kırgın Çiçek, and later played ‘Koray’ in the series İyilik. Özgür Çevik has also showcased his versatility in musicals such as Romantika Müzikali and Fiddler on the Roof.
